BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE
 
 
     
The weight of the luggage the airline allows the traveller to check-in. Economy ticket holders are usually allowed 20kg whilst business and first class passengers able to take between 30-40kg depending on the airline. Hand luggage is fairly standard between the airlines: one piece per passenger and up to 8kg in weight though the dimensions of baggage that is allowed can vary between carriers.

EXCESS BAGGAGE CHARGES
 
 
     
Method of calculating excess baggage charges for each of the two systems currently applicable.
Weight system:- weight system is charged at 1.5% of normal, highest, direct, adult, one way, economy class fare for each kilo. 1. Free baggage allowance: - * first class - 40 kgs * business class - 30 kgs * economy class - 20 kgs 2. Children allowance: - children pay 50% to 67% of adult fare will be entitled for full adult free baggage allowance. 3. Infant allowance: - infant paying 10% of adult fare will not get any free baggage allowance.
Piece system:- piece system is charged at the flat rate for each piece over the allowance, or any over sized baggage. 1. Free baggage allowance :- * first & business class – 2 pieces of baggage’s are allowed with dimension of 62’ and weight 32 kgs each and one handbag is allowed with the dimension of 45’. * economy class – 2 pieces of baggage’s are allowed with total dimension of 107’ and weight 32 kgs each, one bag dimension should not exceed 62’ & other bag dimension should not exceed the difference of 107’ and one hand bad is allowed with dimension of 45’. 2. Children allowance: - children paying 50% to 67% will be entitled for full adult free baggage allowance. 3. Infant allowance: - infant paying 10% of adult fare is entitled to carry one hand baggage with dimension of 45’.
Special baggage items in piece system, which are considered as one piece (dimension 62’):- 1. Sleeping bag or bedroll 2. Knapsack 3. Snow skiing equipment 4. Golfing equipment 5. Suitable packed bicycle (non motorized) 6. Fishing equipment 7. Portable musical instrument

EXCESS BAGGAGE TICKET (EBT)
 
 
     
Whenever the passenger carries more baggage than the maximum permitted baggage allowance then they have to pay excess baggage charges. These charges are taken from the passenger with the issuance of this document. / receipt given to a passenger who has paid excess baggage charge.
Excess baggage charges are taken by the airlines with the issuance of a document called excess baggage ticket (EBT).

PIECE SYSTEM
 
 
     
System in which the free baggage allowance is based on the number of bags and their dimensions allowed for particular route. Piece system is charged at the flat rate for each piece over the allowance, or any over sized baggage. Free baggage allowance for first & business class are 2 pieces of baggage’s are allowed with dimension of 62’ and weight 32 kgs each and one handbag is allowed with the dimension of 45’ and in economy class – 2 pieces of baggage’s are allowed with total dimension of 107’ and weight 32 kgs each, one bag dimension should not exceed 62’ & other bag dimension should not exceed the difference of 107’ and one hand bad is allowed with dimension of 45’. Children paying 50% to 67% will be entitled for full adult free baggage allowance and infant paying 10% of adult fare is entitled to carry one hand baggage with dimension of 45’. Pet is not part of free baggage allowance, charge two times of normal excess baggage charge. Excess baggage charge are excess in number – charge as per the table, excess in number and oversize up to 80’ – charge 2 times of normal excess baggage charge, only over sized charge as per the table and over sized more than 80’ or over weight more than 32 kgs up to 45 kgs – charge 3 times of normal excess baggage charge plus additional charge for additional 10 kgs.
