Unaccompanied Minor (UM): A child, up to the age of 12, who travels alone, not accompanied by an adult. A child is considered unaccompanied if not escorted by a passenger of at least 12 years of age or over paying the adult fare. The adult escort must be fully capable of taking care of the child during the entire trip, including making connections, checking-in, clearing customs and immigration, safeguarding passports and travel documents. Child traveling by air without being accompanied by an adult. The procedures for an unaccompanied minor to travel are all reservation must be confirmed, minor must be escorted on departure by the parents, travel document must be in order, um form should be filled, travel document must be with minor or cabin staff of the airline concerned child is accompanied by a member of the airline’s ground staff to aircraft, on board the child is taken cape by the cabin attendants, ground staff of the airline will accompanied child to the connecting flight and child must be met at arrival by an adult who should sign the um form for the release from airline’s custody. |
