CONNECTING FLIGHT
 
 
     
A flight requiring passengers to change aircraft and/or airlines at an intermediate stop. Flights necessitating a change of aircraft at some intermediate point before arriving at the final destination. An acceptable connecting time must meet a minimum standard agreed upon by the airlines and the airport in that city.

DIRECT AND INDIRECT FLIGHTS
 
 
     
Direct flight – a flight between two predetermined points that does not require a passenger to change the aircraft even though there may be intermediate stops. Indirect flight – a flight, which requires passenger to change the aircraft as a part of the itinerary.

FLIGHT SCHEDULE
 
 
     
Flight schedule is divided into 8 different columns and are having the following flight information’s:- (1) Validity from / to (the effective dates of flight service, with the start and end dates defined) (2) Days of operation (3) Departure time (4) Arrival time (5) Operating airline and flight number (6) Aircraft type code (7) Classes of service (8) Non – stop / stop flight indicator. FLIGHT TIME
 
 
     
Is the time the aircraft is in flight. The point of time between take off and touch down.

FULLY BOOKED FLIGHT
 
 
     
The order in which passengers are boarded on a fully booked flights are confirmed passenger, unconfirmed airline club member, waitlisted passenger traveling for compassionate reasons, waitlisted passenger, go show passenger and space available passenger.

INDICATED FLIGHT TIME
 
 
     
Indicated flight time in the time table publication is not the actual time in air but consists of push back procedure, taxi time to runway, taxi time to air terminal, delay due to air traffic control and delay for alternate route.

INDIRECT FLIGHT
 
 
     
This means the passenger will have to leave the plane at some stage during the journey - either so that it can refuel or possibly so that the traveller can change planes in order to complete the trip.

INTERLINE CONNECTION
 
 
     
A flight on one airline that connects to a flight on another carrier - these tickets are usually more expensive than flying all on one carrier but may be the only way to get to a destination in some cases. Also unless an interline agreement for baggage handling exists, you may have to claim your luggage from the first flight and recheck it on the next carrier's flight.
